Construction Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with SWPPP and OSHA regulations. They should have experience with multi-family/ apartment construction projects. Additionally, knowledge of underground utilities and mass grading projects is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Develop and implement construction planning strategies to optimize resources and timelines.
- Manage budgets and control costs to keep projects within financial parameters.
- Oversee site management to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Conduct quality control assessments to ensure work meets required standards and specifications.
- Create and manage construction schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Coordinate resource management, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Provide team leadership and guidance to project staff and subcontractors.
- Prepare cost estimates and financial reports to track project expenses.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards, including OSHA guidelines.
- Manage risks associated with construction projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate communication among stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
- Utilize construction software tools (e.g., SWPPP, Primavera) to enhance project management efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience with apartment and multi-family construction projects.
- Knowledge of underground utilities and mass grading projects is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Proficiency in construction software, including AutoCAD, SWPPP, and Primavera.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or relevant construction management certifications are preferred.
