Recruiter Spotlight: James Luce Named Rookie of the Quarter

Executive Recruiter James Luce is one of CyberCoders' best talent!

Luce came out on top as the Recruiter of the Quarter last month at CyberCoders annual awards luncheon! Born and raised in Chicago, he's a relentless recruiter who strives to make sure his clients and best candidates are happy.

His top specialties include IT fields of app development, like ERP (SAP, Oracel and JDE), business intelligence and data warehouse across the nation.

He offers over a decade of experience in placing quality candidates in the best fit jobs.

We sat down with James to chat about his talents and experience!

James, Please Tell us about an Exciting Recent Placement You Made!

I was working with a tough client last year that was looking for a niche IT professional for over 6 months on their own. They were having trouble filling the role for numerous reasons and eventually engaged me to help. I was able to quickly develop a consultative relationship with the client.

I leveraged this to expand the parameters of the search to include candidates that required a visa transfer. This gave me the opportunity to direct source someone out of a local competitor running the same tech stack.  The best news was that not only did we help the client but the candidate got a great opportunity to transfer his visa and to get a green card but he also received substantial base salary increase that he would have never received by staying with his previous company!

Awesome! What motivates you to go above and beyond in exceeding expectations?

Your name is always associated with what you do, good or bad. My father and now my newborn son share our name. I always want to make them proud… I work my hardest for them!

What do you think separates CyberCoders from other recruiting firms?

I think there are a number of advantages that our firm has over others but the two most prevalent are really interrelated. First our company hires recruiters that have sales or recruiting experience. Some firms truly have a limited number of experienced recruiters and tend to hire a lot of fresh grads that they try to mold. The problem with that is that the average tenure of someone in a firm like that is less than one year. Clients that work with those firms get frustrated. That’s not us.

Second, all of our 250+ recruiters share candidates. Unlike most staffing firms, where candidates are “owned” by a specific recruiter, that doesn’t happen here. This allows those recruiters varying in experience the opportunity to talk to candidates that have been sourced by the most seasoned recruiters as well as allowing the senior recruiters the opportunity to see candidates sourced from the least tenured. So we are less likely to miss something and more likely to find a job for one of our candidates and fill that role with the best candidate for our client!
