Recently, one of Van Amersfort’s top clients in the Bay Area called him with a pressing request. The client needed two Android developers in a hurry.

They interviewed and extended an offer right away,” Van Amersfort says. “One candidate accepted the offer on the same day, since the offer was $20,000 higher than her current base salary.”
The other talented Android developer was in a more challenging situation.
She was a hardworking mom with a daughter who was recovering from some health issues. The candidate needed to be at home with her for another month until daycare resumed.
“Without hesitation, I reached out to my client to explain the situation, and they allowed my candidate to work from home for the first month,” Van Amersfort says. “On top of that, they gave my candidate an extra month to work from home to make sure she could care for her child and return to the office when she was good and ready.”
