Have you met Executive Recruiter Jon Quickel, one of CyberCoders' Rockstar Recruiters?
Quickel, who received his BA in Business Marketing and played lacrosse at Concordia University, knows the importance of building and maintaining relationships. "My goal is to help connect my clients with the most effective candidates and help them transition into their new careers in a timely manner. My priorities are to make the process seamlessly efficient and make it an enjoyable experience for both my candidates and my clients."
1. Tell us a bit about what industries and positions you recruit for.
I work a specialized Niche Market. Specifically Multifamily Construction & Development roles from Development Managers to Project Managers and Construction Managers to Superintendents. Predominantly on the West Coast at this time, from Seattle to Phoenix.
2. Tell us about an exciting job match you made recently?
I placed a Director of Construction with a repeat client of mine who is a Developer/Builder in Oakland. I thought the candidate was a really good fit but just a little on the green side. The client was a little skeptical taking that next step and hiring him due to that concern of him being a little too green, but in the end they ended taking a leap of faith and the client has voiced several times to me that he very pleased with the decision, and the candidate has also gone on to give me 5 referrals that I’m in the process of placing right now.
3. What drives you to go above and beyond?
I come from a sports background and my competitive side makes me want to be the most impressive person amongst my competition. I like to think I’m in a race to deliver the best candidates and if I deliver the best I’ll be the one getting the repeat business.
4. What do you think separates CyberCoders from the average recruiting firm?
The ability to actually make the money you want. I’m not caught up in the culture, technology, and work space too much. I just find it amazing that there is actually a company out there that gives a 24 year old the opportunity to become a manager and make over 200k at such a young age.
4. What is your favorite part about being a recruiter?
Big commission checks on payday.
5. What are your favorite hobbies or activities outside of the office?
Playing with my two gigantic Greyhounds, hanging out with friends, and playing lacrosse.
