Nadella raised an uproar this week at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing by giving controversial career advice to women.
“It’s not really about asking for a raise, but knowing and having faith that the system will give you the right raise,” Nadella told a confounded (and predominantly female).
Since women are generally paid 78 percent as much as men, many women were puzzled by this advice that suggested women shouldn't speak up for equality.
After ReadWrite broke the story, Nadella clarified that he misspoke:
"Was inarticulate re how women should ask for raise. Our industry must close gender pay gap so a raise is not needed because of a bias #GHC14," Nadella tweeted at October 9th, 1:34 PM.

"Under the “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” section, LinkedIn has added a new area on the right-hand side listing notable actions the user has taken over a specific time frame. This could include posting a status update, joining a prominent group, giving endorsements or making new connections," The Next Web reports.
