Position Overview:
The Purchasing Supervisor will assist all purchasing activities for the company, ensuring that materials and supplies are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. They will be responsible for supervising the purchasing team and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, supply chain management, and finance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies- Manage and supervise the purchasing team- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing and terms- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies- Review and approve purchase orders and contracts- Collaborate with other departments to identify purchasing needs and requirements- Conduct market research and stay current with industry trends and product innovations- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers- Monitor and analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management- Strong knowledge of purchasing practices, supply chain management, and finance principles- Experience managing and supervising a team- Excellent negotiation and communication skills- Proficient in using purchasing software and tools- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards- Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
