Senior Environmental Planner
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner to lead our environmental planning efforts. This role involves conducting comprehensive impact assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and guiding projects through the NEPA processes. The successful candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide strategic insights and solutions for environmental challenges, particularly in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Impact Reports (EIR).
- Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments in accordance with NEPA regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement environmental strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and the public, to communicate project impacts and mitigations.
- Support business development efforts through proposal writing and client engagement.
- Assess and report on environmental risks and compliance issues related to mining projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental planning or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of NEPA processes and requirements.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with mining project regulations and environmental considerations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
