Position Overview
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the construction environment. This role is crucial in identifying potential hazards and implementing safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety standards
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences
- Prepare safety reports and documentation for management review
- Act as a liaison between management and regulatory agencies regarding safety concerns
- Provide guidance on safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry, heavy civil preferred
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
